Job Overview
The Ottawa Speech Company is a growing private practice serving clients of all ages across Ottawa and surrounding areas. We are passionate about making communication accessible, meaningful, and functional for the individuals and families we serve.

We are looking for a Communicative Disorders Assistant who is collaborative, family-centred, and motivated to make a meaningful impact. You will work directly with clients in their homes, daycare centres, and other community settings, delivering therapy that empowers clients and strengthens meaningful communication.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-on-one sessions in clients’ homes and community settings

  • Work closely with your supervising SLP to implement therapy goals

  • Provide engaging, creative, and evidence-informed therapy for clients with a range of abilities and needs

  • Support families through parent coaching and home programming

  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure continuity of care

  • Prepare motivating therapy activities and materials

  • Maintain timely and thorough documentation of sessions and client communications

  • Participate in regular check-ins and team meetings for support, supervision, and professional growth

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduated from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant Program (or equivalent)

  • In good standing with CDAAC

  • Valid criminal record check

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

  • Professional liability insurance (or ability to acquire)

  • Ability to follow treatment plans outlined by a Speech-Language Pathologist

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong time management, flexibility, and organizational skills

  • Able to work independently, highly motivated, and professional

  • Experience working with individuals with a variety of needs, including pediatric and school-aged populations or autistic individuals, is an asset

  • Bilingualism is an asset, but not required
